Addressing The Assassination of Charlie Kirk
This past week, on September 10th, 2025, Charlie Kirk — right-wing political pundit and cofounder of the conservative organization Turning Point USA — was shot and killed on the Utah Valley University campus while hosting debate with college students.
As of the time of writing this, the shooter has been identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, and brought into custody.
Charlie Kirk’s final words were: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”

There’s no shortage of madness in this world, and certainly not in this era.
I’ve never been a fan of Kirk, but I’d never have said, “If only someone would fucking murder him.” I honestly would’ve appreciated the opportunity to debate him myself someday.
Who was Charlie Kirk?
Charlie Kirk became a public political figure back in 2012 when he cofounded Turning Point USA with Bill Montgomery, another conservative activist and businessman who passed away from COVID back in 2020. Kirk was only a couple years older than myself, a month shy of 32 years old when he was killed, a husband and a father to two young children.
