I've seen this interview, and I can appreciate this viewpoint, as it's one I used to hold. I realize it's of little consolation to those children going through that, but I would say that things like that would not have been part of Creation prior to the fall of man/serpent's deception, and that removing the hope of God does nothing to lessen the suffering that exists.
