I do have to ask: does it benefit you, bring you satisfaction, or otherwise improve your here-and-now to disavow the faith of others? I thought it did for me for a time, as I've written about in other articles, but only to find a tremendous amount of grief and regret in my having done so.

I want to spread my faith because it gives me hope of redemption despite my own inadequacy and imperfection, and I want others to have that hope as well. None of us are perfect.
