Dancing With Divinity

A Poem

One of my favorite books to read my daughter (image source)

Ever struggling with the ineffable mysteries
The suffering, the joy, the growth, the intricacies
Too many questions, not enough answers
Wandering life’s jungle stalked by inquisitive panthers

Who is God? Who am I? Who are you?
All sins are forgiven? It matters what we do?
What’s a family? What’s a friend?
Is birth a beginning? Is death an end?

What’s to be trusted? What’s to be feared?
Are the sheep being led to be slaughtered or sheared?
Can the goats ever be welcomed into the flock?
Are we worth more than our labor, prices, and stock?

Love, hate, cooperation, and creativity
Ego vs. id, identity or anonymity?
Timelines shifting, strands of infinity
Shreds of integrity, what’s authenticity?

Can a blessing ever be removed from its curse?
How many cigarettes is a soul worth?
No one can judge without surviving crucifixion
What’s it all worth if we can’t cure addiction?

Is timing perfected everywhere but love?
If no one goes down, does anyone go above?
Or do we just live, die, and come back to the same?
Loving kindness, condemnation, what’s in a name?

Embracing the paradox of being. Writing about spirituality, philosophy, and personal experience, I hope to make you both laugh and think. Maybe even learn.
