A Tribute to Tom Robbins

In Memory Of A Personal Favorite Novelist

7 min readApr 17, 2025

While recently recommending one of my most beloved books, Jitterbug Perfume, to a coworker and subsequently Googling the author to pull up a full list of his books, I was disappointed to learn one of my favorite fictioneers, Mr. Tom Robbins, has recently passed away a couple months ago, in February of 2025.

Granted, the man was 92 and had taken plenty of acid trips, so the chances of him dropping another novel again were slim to none, and his quality of life was probably no longer befitting a man of his caliber, but still, death is a bummer.

In honor of his legacy, and body of work that I admittedly haven’t quite read all the way through, I wanted to put together an article compiling some wonderfully poetic, profound, and hilarious sections of prose from one of my biggest writing inspirations (without giving away any plot spoilers, of course).

If you’re a fan already, I hope this makes you laugh and reflect on why you enjoyed his books. If this introduces you to him and encourages you to check one of his out from the library or buy it or something, all the better.

These are compiled in no particular order or with any sort of intentional…

Being anything at all is a paradox. Writing about spirituality, philosophy, and personal experience, I hope to make you both laugh and think. Maybe even learn.
